Elgin Auto Repair Factory Destroyed By Fire: Officials

The fire occurred Saturday evening in the area of Lambert and Spaulding roads, officials from the Bartlett Fire Protection District said.

ELGIN, IL — An Elgin auto repair shop was completely destroyed following a Saturday night fire which left the facility uninhabitable, according to Bartlett Fire Protection District officials.

Firefighters responded to the building at the corner of Lambert and Spaulding roads at around 6:15 p.m. and found the building "well involved with fire," according to a statement. About 20 cars next to the burning building were also on fire.

Fire officials used the aerial ladder on two trucks to extinguish the fire due to limited access to all sides of the building.
