Elgin police arrest Milwaukee man with large amount of drugs

Man had bloodshot eyes, and he had several pounds of cannabis in his vehicle.

On Monday, an Elgin police officer on foot at a toll plaza on I-90 noticed the strong odor of marijuana from a black pick-up approaching a toll booth, according to the Daily Herald. The officer stopped the truck and found four and a half pounds of cannabis, three cell phones and $1,596 in cash. Police arrested the driver of the vehicle, 23-year-old Oscar M. Reyes-Souza.

Reyes-Souza faces up to 15 years in prison. He is free on bond, and he has a court date on December 7.
