Jose Bosque leads James β€œJimmy” Shales in the race for the Democratic nomination for Elgin Township highway commissioner. Bosque earned 321 votes to Shales’ 262 votes, but 130 mail-in ballots have not yet been returned, Kane County Clerk John Cunningham told Patch on Thursday.

Shales would need to win a significant percentage of those ballots to overcome Bosque’s 59-vote lead.
