2 Elmhurst Men Charged With Domestic Battery

Another local man knocked a phone out of a person's hand at a business, drawing a battery charge, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving domestic battery, battery, burglary, DUI, a customer dispute, trespassing and fugitive drivers. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Domestic battery

  • A 54-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 500 block of North Walnut Street was arrested about 4 a.m. Saturday at his house on a domestic battery charge. Police said the man gained entry into his parents' bedroom and battered the victim. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • A 46-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 1000 block of South Riverside Drive was arrested about 9 p.m. Sunday at his house on two counts of domestic battery. In the incident, a 38-year-old Elmhurst woman who lives in the same house was arrested on a DuPage County warrant charging failure to appear. She was released.

  • A 54-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 180 block of Monterey Avenue was arrested about 11:30 a.m. Friday at Honda on Grand, 300 W. Grand Ave., on a battery charge. Police said he knocked a phone out of a person's hand during an argument. He was released.

Burglary

  • Juan C. Pasillas, 38, of Addison, was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Roosevelt Road and Route 83 on charges of burglary, theft, possession of a theft shielding device, driving with a suspended registration, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving an uninsured car. Police said Pasillas was found with stolen merchandise from Walmart, 900 S. Route 83 in Villa Park. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

DUI

  • A 27-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 3 a.m. Saturday at Interstate 290 and York Street on charges of DUI, carrying a concealed firearm while under the influence, failure to signal when required, improper lane usage and driving an uninsured car. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

Customer dispute

  • After a customer dispute about 4 p.m. Thursday, Larry Roesch Auto Body, 150 W. Grand Ave., wanted a person served with a no-trespass notice, which the police did.

Fugitive drivers

  • About 6:30 p.m. Friday at Interstate 290 and St. Charles Road, an officer tried to stop a black Honda Fit that was reported stolen in Elk Grove Village. The driver did not stop and sped east on Interstate 290.
  • An officer tried to stop a gray Dodge Charger about 2 a.m. Saturday at York Street and Roosevelt Road for having no rear registration. The driver failed to stop and sped east on Interstate 290.
  • About noon Saturday on eastbound Interstate 290, officers tried to stop a white Toyota Camry that was reported stolen in Mount Prospect. Officers followed the car, but could not stop it. The car was last seen heading east on I-290 past Des Plaines Road.

Retail theft

  • Two women stole two bags of merchandise about 6:30 p.m. Friday at Walgreens, 160 N. Robert Palmer Drive. An investigation is pending. The first woman was described as black and wearing a black puffer jacket and brown boots. The second woman was described as black, short and wearing dark pants, a purple puffer jacket, a purple hat, gray boots and a tan purse.

Trespassing

  • A person returned to downtown's Stage 119, 119 S. Commerce Parkway, after being asked to leave shortly before midnight Saturday. The person was served a no-trespass notice.
