Addison Man Arrested for Child Pornography

Images and movie files of children under 18 were found on computer equipment belonging to Julian McElyea, according to the Sheriff's Office.

An Addison man was charged Friday with six felony counts of possession and reproduction of child pornography, a Class 2 Felony, according to a press release from the DuPage County Sheriff's Office.

An investigation by the county's Sexual Predator Electronic Exploitation Division led to the arrest of Julian L. McElyea, 32, of the 100 block of School Street. On May 1, a search warrant was issued based on information he was downloading and distributing child pornography, and numerous electronics were removed from his home, according to the Sheriff's Office.

A forensic preview of the devices showed multiple pornographic images and movie files depicting subjects under the age of 18, according to the release.

McElyea is being held in DuPage County Jail on $100,000 bond.

A Class 2 Felony is punishable by three to seven years in prison and a fine of up to $25,000.
