ELMHURST, IL – Amy Jovanovich, of West Chicago, passed away Monday, December 8, 2025 at 59 years old. She was born and raised in Elmhurst, Illinois, and moved to West Chicago to be close to her job as a Deputy Sheriff of DuPage County. She found her calling in that career and enjoyed not only what she did for a living, but her coworkers as well! She was a Serbian Orthodox Christian growing up at Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral-Chicago and St. George Serbian Orthodox Church-Joliet. She was a past soprano of Serbian Singing Society Mita Topalovich-Joliet and Serbian Singing Society Branko Radichevich-Chicago. But she found her true passion working with dogs. She loved her dogs and was very active training them to participate in agility, flyball, and obedience competitions for many years. She had a soft spot in her heart for the forgotten animals, having nurtured and loved many rescue dogs with special medical needs.

Amy Jovanovich is survived by her sister Holly (Zoran) Goljić; nieces Zora and Zvezdana Goljić; her aunts and uncle, many cousins, kumovi, and very dear and devoted friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Jr. and Joan Jovanovich.

Amy enjoyed traditional family holiday gatherings and going out with her friends, who became like her extended family. She was a Die-Hard fan of the Chicago Cubs and an avid fan of the Chicago Bears. She cherished her memories of vacationing in Manistique, Michigan, while growing up. She crocheted in her spare time, making beautiful blankets she joyfully shared with others as gifts. She had a blunt sense of humor and a big heart. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Memorial contributions in Amy's name may be directed to Holly Goljić to be used according to the family's wishes.
