Elmhurst Resident Named Executive Director of Illinois Myasthenia Gravis Foundation

Elmhurst resident Joan Wincentsen has been selected to serve as the executive director of the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of Illinois.

MG is a highly misdiagnosed and undiagnosed autoimmune disease in which communication between nerve and muscle are impaired, causing weakness.

Joan worked part-time for the organization prior to being hired full-time as the executive director. She is a long-time resident of Elmhurst who has worked and volunteered in a variety of capacities for other area companies and nonprofits. Joan is the organization's first full-time ED in over a decade.
