Armed Man Reported Near Elmhurst Hospital

The hospital was placed on lockdown for about an hour.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst officers were called Thursday night to Elmhurst Hospital for a report of an armed man with a handgun, police said.

The man was seen about 9:50 p.m. in the hospital parking lot, police said. The hospital was placed on lockdown.

About an hour later, police said they thoroughly searched the vicinity and that the man was no longer in the Elmhurst area. The lockdown was lifted.

The man was described as black, 5-foot-10, 120 pounds, in his 20s, and wearing a white shirt, black sweatshirt, black shorts and a black rag on his head.
