Bryan Middle Students Shine at Science and Math Competitions
Eighth grader Kevin Mikos came in first place overall.

Twenty Bryan Middle School students attended the 39th Annual Jr. High Science Contest on Nov. 10 at Fenwick High School.
Forty-four schools and 559 students from across the Chicagoland area took part in a one-hour-long test that covered all areas of science. The Bryan team placed third in the competition and eighth grader Kevin Mikos came in first place overall.

Science Team members include: Nathan Yang, Ethan Thomas, Timothy Hradil, Rose Menichini, Sheamus Kennedy, Josie Park, Hannah Malloy, Sophie Ward, Justin Zellinger, Jordan McAdoo, John Cooper Nordahl, Luc Pesenti, David Ciccarone, Molly Braun, Addie Roy, Monica Wang, Olivia Ross, Jake LaSpisa, Kevin Mikos and Maya Wlodarczyk (not pictured).
Bryan Science Team coordinators are Beth McDonald and Chelsea Davis.

In addition, the Bryan Math team shone at the Fenwick High School Math Contest, held Nov. 14. More than 250 students representing 30 schools participated in the competition.
Bryan Demons achieved:
- · Third place finish for 6-person team in AA category – Nate Crowell, Brian Kelley, Emmet McGovern (not pictured), Kevin Mikos, James Sampson, Justin Zellinger
- · Fourth place finish for Individual overall in AA category – Kevin Mikos
