Elmhurst police are staking out Dunkin’ Donuts' rooftop at 936 N. York to raise donations for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Illinois Special Olympics. Everyone who makes a donation before noon May 31 at the Cop on Top event at 936 N. York Road in Elmhurst will get a free donut. People who donate $5 will receive a pin and $15 the choice of a T-shirt or hat (while supplies last). Last year, Elmhurst police raised $6,069.68 for Illinois Special Olympics, and they want to beat that his year. Donations also are accepted at Elmhurst Police Department, Attn: Officer Matt McCollum, 125 E. First St., Elmhurst, IL 60126. Make checks payable to Special Olympics Illinois.
