Cross-town Catholic School Track Meet: Visitation vs. IC Grade School
It was really all about fun and family.
Immaculate Conception Grade School and Visitation School track teams met on the track of Elmhurst College earlier this month, where the two Elmhurst schools were able to compete against one another in a fun-filled evening of events.
The JV teams, which consist of fifth- and sixth-grade boys and girls, took to the track first, while the varsity teams, consisting of seventh- and eighth-grade boys and girls were sent out to the field.
At this meet, athletes get to try new events they may not typically participate in during a weekend meet due to the limitation of entrants per race. An 800-meter runner might have been able to try a 75-meter dash, or a triple-jump athlete might have tried throwing a javelin.
