Crowd In Elmhurst Street Leads To Citations: Police

Four Elmhurst University students were ticketed on alcohol-related charges.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police charged people with having alcohol in a public way, use of false identification, aggravated driving with a revoked license and DUI. Here is information from the latest arrest log:

Alcohol in a public way

  • Four Elmhurst University students were cited about 4 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of East Van Buren Street. They were a 22-year-old Illinois man; a 19-year-old Arizona man; a 21-year-old Indiana woman; and a 21-year-old Addison man. The 21-year-old was charged with possession of alcohol by a minor, while the others were charged with possession of alcohol in a public way. They were released. Police said they received a report of a crowd of people standing in the street.

False ID

  • A 20-year-old Glendale Heights woman was cited about 10:30 p.m. Saturday at Fitz's Pub, 172 N. Addison Ave., on a charge of using a false identification. She was released.

Felony driving charge

  • Jorge A. Perez, 64, of Chicago, was arrested shortly before noon Thursday at Lake Street and Grand Avenue on charges of aggravated driving with a revoked license (a felony), driving an uninsured car, not wearing a seatbelt and having no front license plate. He was released.

  • A 30-year-old Elmhurst woman who lives in the 400 block of North West Avenue was arrested about 3:30 p.m. Friday at her house on a DuPage County warrant charging failure to appear in court. Police came into contact with her after a car lockout call. She was released.

DUI

  • A 29-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Saturday at Clinton and North avenues on charges of DUI, no valid driver's license, driving an uninsured car, improper window tinting, not wearing a seatbelt, possessing open alcohol and driving with a suspended registration. He was released.
  • A 45-year-old Elmhurst woman who lives in the 100 block of South York Street was arrested about 10 p.m. Saturday at York and Hale streets on charges of DUI, obstructing a police officer, unlawfully possessing a weapon, disobeying a stop sign, and driving with expired license plates. She was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 35-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 800 block of South Berkley Avenue was arrested about 3:30 a.m. Sunday at Berkley and Vallette streets on a DUI Charge. He was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 42-year-old Lombard man was arrested about 8 p.m. Sunday in the 500 block of West Grand Avenue on charges of DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving the wrong way on a divided highway. He was involved in a single-car crash, police said. He was taken to the police station and then released.
