Death Notice: Richard Borchert

Richard G. Borchert, 90, of Freeport, died Thursday, Sept. 26, at his home. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1945, and was a mason contractor for many years before purchasing a dairy farm in the Freeport area.

He is survived by his wife, Alice; his sons, Thomas (Joan) of Elmhurst and William (Karen) of Lake Zurich; his four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, at Walker Mortuary, 321 W. Main St., Freeport. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Freeport. A committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at Chahpel Hill Gardens South in Oak Lawn.
