Death Threats, Ice Injuries, York Student Racks Up 59 Absences: Elmhurst Police Blotter
Take a look at what's been going on at the Elmhurst Police Department for the past week.
The following items are some of the highlights from last week's Elmhurst police blotter.
Truancy
- A York High School student was cited for truancy Dec. 16 when the school’s administration noted the student had accumulated 59 unexcused absences throughout the first semester of school. The student’s mom was contacted about the incident.
Domestic dispute

- DuComm dispatch at 155 E. Brush Hill received a 911 call the morning of Dec. 19 in which a woman’s voice stated “He is going to kill us.” Elmhurst police officers weren’t able to find the woman at the Elmhurst Hospital, but she was later found in Oak Park with her three children.
Illegal solicitation
- Jorge Alanis, 42, and Hector Olivera, 46, were arrested around noon Dec. 20 for going door to door selling firewood in Elmhurst without a legal permit. Police found the pair on the 800 block of S. Mitchell, where they told cops what they were doing, but police informed them they needed registration from the City of Elmhurst to solicit goods or services. Both men were cited and asked to leave the area.

- A man was leaving the Elmhurst Emergency Room around 5 p.m. Dec. 20 and heading to a different ER when he reportedly slipped on a patch of ice or tripped on his own untied shoelace and landed on his back. He had to be transported to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment.
Several more burglaries from cars were reported in Elmhurst last week. In most cases, few items were taken and in almost all cases, the cars were unlocked at the time of entry.
