Domestic Battery Arrests In Elmhurst Neighborhoods

An Elmhurst man is accused of battering someone during an argument, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving domestic battery, a seizure, disorderly conduct, theft of services, threats, road rage and fugitive drivers. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Domestic battery

  • A 23-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 700 block of Prospect Avenue was arrested about 10 p.m. Thursday at his home on two counts of domestic battery. Police said the man battered someone else during an argument. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • A 20-year-old Berwyn woman was arrested about 2:30 p.m. Saturday on two counts of domestic battery. Police said the woman choked a man during an argument at Elmhurst University, 190 S. Prospect Ave. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • A domestic battery was reported about 9 p.m. Friday in the 700 block of North Michigan Street. A suspect grabbed a woman's forearm. Police found no signs of an injury. The woman agreed to spend the night with her family.

Weapons charge

  • A 23-year-old Hanover Park man was arrested about 1 a.m. Thursday at North and Clinton avenues on charges of unlawful use of a weapon, marijuana possession and driving without a license plate light. He was released.

Seizure

  • A person fell and had a seizure about 11 a.m. Thursday in the 100 block of South York Street. The person was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.

Theft of services

  • A person left Accelerated Aesthetics medical spa, 112 S. York St., about 1:30 p.m. Thursday without paying for a service. An investigation is pending.

Disorderly conduct

  • A man told police that another person threatened to hit him Oct. 13 in the 600 block of West North Avenue. The suspect denied making any threat. The man filed a report Friday.

Fugitive drivers

  • The driver of a red Dodge Caravan fled a traffic stop about 8 p.m. Friday at North and Ridgeland avenues. An investigation is pending.
  • About 11 p.m. Friday, an officer tried to stop the driver of a blue Ford Edge at Lake Street and Interstate 290. The driver sped away. The car was later found in Bellwood. The driver was not there. The car was towed to the Elmhurst police station for an investigation.

Threats

  • Over the phone, a customer threatened an employee of Goldfish Swim School, 614 N. Michigan St. The customer was given a no-trespass notice.
  • A resident in the 300 block of South West Avenue told police Thursday about receiving threatening messages on Facebook.

Road rage

  • A man told police that the driver of a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter cut him off and threw something at his car about 10 p.m. Saturday at Roosevelt Road and Villa Avenue. The car was not damaged. An investigation is pending.

Trespassing

  • A man sleeping in his car went into a business to use the restroom about 10:30 a.m. Friday at 188 W. Industrial Drive. The business did not want the man on the property. The man was given a no-trespass notice.

Felony marijuana possession

  • Musa Adwan, 35, of Orland Park, was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Friday at Roosevelt Road and York Street on charges of felony marijuana possession, driving a vehicle with suspended registration and driving an uninsured car. Police said the man had more than 100 grams of marijuana. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

DUI

  • A 41-year-old Downers Grove man was arrested about 1:30 p.m. Sunday at North Avenue and York Street on charges of DUI and marijuana possession. Police said the man was found asleep behind the wheel. He was taken to the police station and then released.
