Driver Vs. Cyclist Road Rage In Elmhurst: Police

In another case, a woman said she was followed from Chicago. Then she drove to the local police station.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving road rage, a woman being followed, wallet theft, a domestic disturbance, a fall and damage. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Road rage

  • An incident involving road rage occurred about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Vallette Street and Poplar Avenue. A person said that while he was riding his bicycle, a driver honked, got out and yelled before driving away. The suspect denied that version of events, claiming he got out of his car when the bicyclist approached him and yelled. No citations were issued because of conflicting statements.

  • A woman told police someone followed her from Chicago about 1 a.m. Tuesday. While heading to the Elmhurst police station, the suspect cut her off and struck her car. Police tried to stop the person, who sped away. An investigation is pending.

Wallet theft

  • A woman told police that someone stole her wallet between 4 p.m. and midnight Monday at Jewel, 944 S. York St. Then, several unauthorized purchases were made using her credit cards. An investigation is pending.

Domestic disturbance

  • Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 3 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of North Avon Road. A woman and her grandson argued, but it did not turn physical. They agreed to separate for the night.

Theft

  • A catalytic converter was stolen about 3:30 a.m. Monday from a vehicle in the 600 block of West Lake Street. An investigation is pending.

Fall

  • A woman fell and hit her head about 1 a.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of Alexander Boulevard. She was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.

Damage

  • Someone drilled holes in the side of a house between Monday and Wednesday in the 200 block of South Pick Avenue. An investigation is pending.
