Elmhurst Arrests Felon On Gun Charge: Police
He was wanted on a charge of fleeing and eluding, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst officers this week arrested a convicted felon on a gun charge, police said.
Daniel Medina-Guerrero, 27, of Chicago, was ordered to stay in the DuPage County Jail until his trial.
Mid-afternoon Monday, Elmhurst police waited for the expected arrival of Medina-Guerrero in the 600 block of West Lake Street, prosecutors said. They said he was a suspect in an incident in which he fled police on Dec. 15.

When Medina-Guerrero got out of his car, detectives arrested him. They found a loaded, stolen SAR-9 9mm handgun under the driver's seat, police said.
The gun was stolen in Dayton, Ohio, in January 2023, prosecutors said.

"The law is crystal clear: As a convicted felon, Mr. Medina-Guerrero has forfeited his right to legally possess a firearm," DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in a statement.
Medina-Guerrero faces felony charges of being an armed habitual criminal and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.
