Elmhurst Bridal Shop Owners React to Devastating Fire

Other bridal shops are beginning to reach out, offering new dresses for brides whose gowns were destroyed in the fire.

The blaze that engulfed VIP Occasions of Elmhurst for more than three hours Thursday afternoon has finally been extinguished, according to an announcement the store made on Facebook.

The Facebook post included sentiments from Natalie Krstev and Nicole Samardzija, the sisters who have owned the shop for years.

"Every bride, bridesmaid and gown customer has been like extended family members to us," the post reads. "We are grateful and overwhelmed with everyone's support at this time."

Two bridal shop owners have already reached out to offer support to VIP Occasions, ABC 7 reported. Complete Bridal in East Dundee has said anyone who lost a dress in Thursday's fire can get a new one free from their shop, excluding alterations, if they provide a receipt from VIP Occasions. Volle's Bridal Boutique in Lake Zurich said anyone who lost a dress should fill out an appointment for help on their website.
