Elmhurst Charges Trio With Home Repair Fraud: Cops

One of the suspects lives overseas. They were taken to the county jail.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police charged people with home repair fraud, aggravated assault, domestic battery, disorderly conduct and aggravated fleeing and eluding. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst arrest log:

Home repair fraud

  • Patrick Hanrahan, 22, of North Hampton, United Kingdom; James Wilson, 50, of Johnstown, New York; and John Purcell, 33, of Carteret, New Jersey, were arrested about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday on charges of home repair fraud and criminal property damage. Police said their crime was in the 600 block of South Hawthorne Avenue, where the men started demolishing a woman's property before she agreed to the work. The three were taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Aggravated assault

  • A 61-year-old Bolingbrook man was arrested about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road, on an aggravated assault charge. Police said the man threatened someone else with a bat. He was released.

Domestic battery

  • A 32-year-old Stone Park woman was arrested about 7:30 a.m. Monday in the 800 block of Church Street on a domestic battery charge. Police said the woman battered a man during an argument. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Aggravated fleeing

  • Joseph D. Budnick, 41, of Berwyn, was arrested about 4 p.m. Monday on charges of aggravated fleeing and eluding, retail theft, driving with a revoked license, driving an uninsured car, passing on the shoulder and improper land use. He is accused of stealing at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83.

Disorderly conduct

  • A 19-year-old Chicago man and a 19-year-old Northlake man were arrested about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of Fellows Court on disorderly conduct charges. They were released.
