Elmhurst Cops Go To Broadview Twice
This is where ICE protests are taking place, though Elmhurst did not indicate why local officers went.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving responses to Broadview, domestic disturbances, vandalism, threatening messages, a store disturbance, falls, a mumbling man, a car burglary and battery. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Responding to Broadview
- An Elmhurst officer responded as part of a mutual aid request to help the Broadview police about 9:30 a.m. Friday. That morning, protests were taking place outside the ICE building in Broadview. An officer also responded to Broadview about 11 p.m. Saturday. In an email Wednesday, city spokesperson Molly Arnold said state police and other agencies established a unified command to coordinate assistance for Broadview because the situation exceeded the town's ability to handle it alone. Elmhurst officers returned when the situation subsided, she said.
Domestic disturbances

- Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the 700 block of North Oaklawn Avenue. A mother and her son were involved in a heated argument. They agreed to separate for the night.
- Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 9 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of East Parkside Avenue. Two people were in an argument. They agreed to stay away from each other for the night.
Vandalism
- Graffiti was found Wednesday inside the men's and women's restrooms at York Commons Pool, 665 S. York St.
Threatening messages

- Pinnacle Public Adjusters, 229 E. Butterfield Road, received threatening messages from a suspect about 9:30 a.m. Thursday. Police contacted the man, who apologized and said he had been upset. He was given a no-trespass notice.
- A woman in the 100 block of North York Street told police Thursday that she received a handwritten letter that threatened her with battery. An investigation is pending.
Store disturbance
- Police were called about a disturbance shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83. A man was accused of throwing something at another person. Drugs were found on the man. The man was taken to the police station, where he was released pending lab results.
Falls
- Officers responded to a fall about 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of South York Street. The man said he had two drinks and only remembered walking out of an establishment. He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
- A person had fallen about 1 a.m. Saturday at York and Lexington streets. The person was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
Mumbling man
- A woman told police that a man mumbling to himself pulled her car door handle about 5 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of North Addison Avenue. Officers could not find him.
Car burglary
- A woman told police that a stranger entered her unlocked car and stole two credit cards and $20 about 7 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of East Vallette Street.
Battery
- A man told police that two others had battered him about 5 p.m. Sunday at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83. The suspects denied the allegation. An investigation is pending.
Drunk
- Officers found a drunk man about 4 a.m. Sunday at Route 83 and St. Charles Road. The man did not want to go to the hospital. He was taken to a family member's house.
Suspicious
- A suspect was believed to be stalling a clerk at Walgreens, 160 N. Robert Palmer Drive, in an attempt to steal items about 2 p.m. Sunday. A no-trespass notice was served to the suspect.
