Elmhurst D205 Leader Gets 4-Year Contract
An official cited "notable" student outcomes, but identified an area to improve.

ELMHURST, IL – The Elmhurst school board on Tuesday unanimously approved a four-year contract for Superintendent Keisha Campbell.
The board did not indicate the amount of Campbell's salary under the agreement. As of last year, she made $250,000, plus $32,728 in retirement enhancements and $58,083 in other benefits.
On Monday, Patch filed a public records request for the contract.

One of the district's accomplishments under Campbell's reign is the growth in performance among third through eighth graders.
Elmhurst is one of only a few districts nationwide where standardized test scores among elementary and middle schoolers last year exceeded those in 2019, before the pandemic.
In a statement, board President Athena Arvanitis said Campbell has used data to tackle problems and then improve student outcomes.
"Our district has experienced notable growth in student learning in grades kindergarten across multiple subject areas and subgroups under Dr. Campbell's leadership," Arvanitis said.
She said Campbell has created systems that impact students for the better.
"Knowing the system works, we look forward to similar results in grades nine through 12 over the term of this next contract," Arvanitis said, referring to dropping standardized test scores among high schoolers.
Campbell's new contract takes effect July 1.
