Elmhurst Eatery Bumping Prompts Police Call
In another case, a person admits to fraud at an Elmhurst restaurant, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a bumping at a restaurant, fraud at another, retail theft, a domestic disturbance and porch piracy. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Bumped at restaurant
- A man told police that someone bumped into him from behind about 8 p.m. Monday as he entered Mangia Napoli Pizzeria, 940 N. York St. The other person denied it. No arrest was made because of conflicting stories.

- Poke Burrito Japanese restaurant, 162 N. York St., told police Tuesday that someone signed an unsigned check after the business had already sent a Zelle payment in the same amount. Officers met with the suspect, who admitted to fraudulently signing and cashing the check. Charges are pending.
Retail theft
- Three people stole four cases of alcohol from Thorntons convenience store, 476 N. York St. An investigation is pending.
Domestic disturbance

- Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 8:30 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of North Berteau Avenue. Two people were arguing.
Porch piracy
- A package was stolen between 4:45 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Wednesday from a front porch in the 400 block of East Vallette Street. An investigation is pending.
