Elmhurst Fire Chief Retiring to Private Industry
Fire Chief Jeff Bacidore's retirement will take effect Feb. 5.

Elmhurst, IL - Elmhurst Fire Chief Jeff Bacidore has announced plans to retire from the Elmhurst Fire Department, effective Feb. 5.
Bacidore will take a position in the private industry, concluding his 31 years served as an Elmhurst firefighter, according to the City of Elmhurst.
“We appreciate all that Jeff has given to the residents of Elmhurst over his career and wish him the best as he starts a new career,” said city manager Jim Brabowski in a statement.

Bacidore began firefighting in May of 1985. He was promoted to lieutenant in June of 1995. He was promoted three years later to battalion chief and then to deputy fire chief in 2002, according to the city. He took up the role of fire chief in May 2012.
“I feel blessed to have been a small part of this great city,” Bacidore said in a statement. “It has been an honor to work with the dedicated firefighter and paramedics of the Elmhurst Fire Department. Their hard work and dedication to the mission of the Elmhurst Fire Department is something I will remember for years to come.”
