ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst firefighters and medics responded early Sunday afternoon to a medical emergency involving a woman in active labor, according to a city news release. About 12:30 p.m., they were called to a house in the 400 block of West Alma Avenue, where they helped with the delivery of the baby, the city said. The mother and newborn were taken to Elmhurst Hospital. They were reported in stable condition after receiving care at the house and en route.
