ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst has completed its investigation into allegations of workplace misconduct in the fire department, a human resources official said.

The city said it found no evidence to corroborate the information provided by a former paramedic's lawyer against fire department personnel.

The paramedic alleged she was the victim of sexual harassment.

Her attorney said the paramedic was shoved at one point and that a firefighter told her that "we should get rid of all of the females" in the fire station.

Patch, which obtained the attorney's letter through a public records request, detailed the allegations in a November story.

In October, the paramedic, who was described as an employee of Superior Ambulance, received a $48,000 settlement from the city.

On Dec. 9, Assistant Human Resources Manager Stojana Ivancevic sent a memo to City Manager Jim Grabowski about the investigation. She said the inquiry involved interviews with fire personnel and Superior paramedics.

For decades, the city has contracted with Elmhurst-based Superior Ambulance.
