Elmhurst Historical Museum Releases Three-year Strategic Plan

New strategic plan released April 30 outlines museum goals through 2018

The Elmhurst Historical Museum released its three-year strategic plan this week, a plan outlining the goals and initiatives of the museum for the future.

The museum’s strategic plan can be viewed by the public on  the City of Elmhurst website at www.elmhurst.org.

The plan outlines four ”strategic goals” that the museum looks to accomplish over the next three years. They include the categories of: engage the community in history, community involvement, continue to maintain its facilities and make them more welcoming to the public, and, and branding and communication by looking to expand its identity in Elmhurst.

One of the new displays at the museum for 2015 is a state-of-the-art interactive Elmhurst history exhibit, called "By All Accounts: The Story of Elmhurst," examining Elmhurst 165-year history.

The Elmhurst Historical Museum cares for more than 15,000 artifacts in its permanent collection including furniture, textiles, decorative arts, paintings and other items from the everyday life of Elmhurst residents or related to Elmhurst history, according to the museum's website.
