Elmhurst Man Arrested In Road Rage Incident

In another case, an Elmhurst man battered two sisters and then damaged property, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of disorderly conduct, domestic battery, theft and DUI. Here is information from Elmhurst's latest arrest log:

Road rage

  • A 22-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 300 block of East Huntington Lane was cited on a disorderly conduct charge. Police said the man was involved in a road rage incident shortly before noon Sunday at Huntington Lane and Fair Avenue. The man was accused of speeding around another driver, blocking him and yelling. Officers spoke with the suspect at his house, where he admitted to the incident, police said.

Domestic battery

  • A 25-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 200 block of West Butterfield Road was arrested about 2 a.m. Sunday at his house on four counts of domestic battery and a count of criminal property damage. Police said the man battered two sisters and damaged a window and a wall. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • A 44-year-old Willow Springs man was arrested about 2 a.m. Friday on two counts of domestic battery. Police said the man grabbed and shoved his girlfriend to the ground during an argument in the 500 block of North Walnut Street. He then fled before officers arrived, but was found, police said. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Disorderly conduct

  • A 51-year-old Chicago man was cited about 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Jewel, 153 E. Schiller St., on a disorderly conduct charge. Police said the man asked customers for money and made threats.
  • A 23-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 400 block of West St Charles Road was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and obstructing identification. Police said he was hitting his brother's car at the St. Charles address and then provided officers with a false name. He was released.

Theft

  • A 50-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Thursday on a theft charge. Police said the man stole an electric shopping scooter from a Jewel grocery store and was found in the 300 block of North Howard Avenue. The incident occurred about 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the 300 block of North Howard Avenue, police said. The man was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

DUI

  • Juan Zuniga, 51, of Villa Park, was arrested about 1 a.m. Friday at Route 83 and Roosevelt Road on charges of aggravated DUI, driving with a revoked license, obstructing identification, improper lane usage, improper lighting (one taillight), and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. He was also wanted on a Hanover Park warrant. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Billy Thomas, 33, of West Chicago, was arrested about 10 a.m. Friday at North Avenue and Route 83 on charges of aggravated DUI, driving with a suspended license, driving an uninsured car and disobeying a traffic control device. Police said Thomas crashed. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • A 22-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 6:30 p.m. Friday in the 400 block of North York Street on charges of DUI (drugs) and unlawful marijuana possession by a driver. He was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 28-year-old Villa Park man was arrested about 4 a.m. Sunday at St. Charles Road and Villa Avenue on charges of DUI, improper lane usage, improper turn and driving an uninsured car. He was taken to the police station and then released.

Obstructing identification

  • A 27-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 8:30 a.m. Friday on a charge of obstructing identification. He was also wanted on a Cook County warrant. Police said the man was arrested at Panera, 108 E. North Ave. He was accused of providing police a false name. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
