Elmhurst Man Swears, Throws Object At Car In His Neighborhood: Cops
In another case, a man stole a woman's credit cards at the hospital and then made purchases, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a neighborhood ruckus, credit card theft, a drunk person, a domestic disturbance, a stolen wallet, flag vandalism, a car burglary and harassment. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Neighborhood ruckus
- A 57-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 200 block of Geneva Avenue was arrested Monday on a criminal property damage charge. Police said the incident occurred about 8 p.m. Sept. 25 at Clinton Avenue and Third Street, less than a block from where he lives. The man is accused of yelling a profanity and throwing something at a car headed north on Clinton. The man was released.
Credit card theft

- Marvin L. Muse Jr., 46, of Martinsville, Virginia, was arrested Wednesday on charges of burglary and unlawful possession of a credit card. Police said Muse stole a woman's credit cards at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Retail theft
- A 34-year-old man was arrested about 5:30 p.m. Monday on two counts of retail theft. Police said the incident occurred at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83. He was released to the Mount Prospect police for a retail investigation in their jurisdiction.
- Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, found three security devices in the changing room about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. An employee saw two people leave with unpaid merchandise. An investigation is pending.
Drunk

- A 51-year-old Bensenville man was arrested about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of York Street on a charge of obstructing a police officer. Police said the drunk man was lying next to the street. The man refused to comply with local officers and was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, police said. He was later released.
Theft
- Police are investigating a theft about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at York High School, 355 W. St. Charles Road.
Domestic disturbance
- Police responded about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday to a domestic disturbance in the 500 block of West Grand Avenue. The suspect denied any violence. No arrests were made because of conflicting statements and no visible injuries.
Stolen wallet
- A woman told police that someone stole her wallet about 6 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of North York Street. Then she saw unauthorized purchases on her card. An investigation is pending.
Car burglary
- A woman in the 400 block of West Butterfield Road discovered her trunk handle was missing from her car. It appeared to have been pried off. It was believed to have occurred about 2:30 p.m. Monday.
Flag vandalism
- A resident on Wolcott Court told police that someone walked up to a flag by the front door and painted it about 8:30 p.m. Nov. 14. The crime was reported three days later.
Harassment
- A resident in the 300 block of West Avery Street told police Tuesday that someone had continually harassed and threatened her through text messages. An investigation is pending.
Fall
- Someone fell about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 500 block of West Lake Street. The person was taken to Elmhurst University.
Fugitive driver
- An officer tried to stop a stolen black Kia Sportage SUV about 11 p.m. Wednesday at North and Illinois avenues. The driver sped away.
