ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst aldermen are voting Monday on whether to settle with a Cook County woman who was arrested in October 2023 on a drunken driving charge.

Last August, Jolly Walls, a trucker, sued the city in federal court, asserting her arrest was based on an Elmhurst officer's false evaluation. Prosecutors later dropped the charge.

This week, Walls signed a settlement agreement with the city. The pact would give her $5,000. Neither party would admit liability.
