Elmhurst Mayor Touts City Accomplishments
He issued a statement in his bid for a second term as the city's leader.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst Mayor Scott Levin, touting the city's accomplishments in recent years, made the case for his re-election in a statement Sunday.
Levin is facing former longtime Alderman Mark Mulliner in the April 1 election.
In 2021, Levin, a lawyer, defeated both Mulliner and Alderman Michael Bram in the mayoral election. He had been an alderman since 2010.

Levin said that when he took office in 2021, he convened a planning session with the City Council and department heads.
"Among the priorities we identified are public safety, including safer neighborhood streets, improved walking and biking experiences, finding ways to make it affordable for our seniors to stay in town, and better communications," the mayor said. "We have made significant progress on these and other priorities."

Elmhurst's business districts, he said, are the envy of other towns. For instance, the Elmhurst Public Arts Commission, which he said he worked to establish, has made its mark in downtown with such projects as the Umbrella Sky display, he said.
Levin said he also created the Elmhurst Walkers and Rollers Working group to promote safe and accessible biking, walking and running.
The mayor called Elmhurst a "remarkably safe" town with police and fire departments that are among the state's best. He also pointed to neighborhood traffic studies that he said promote safe streets.
He said in his 14 years with the city, it has balanced its budgets and maintained an AAA bond rating.
"The continued theme of my candidacy is ‘Working Together for Elmhurst,'" Levin said. "During the time I have been mayor, I have regularly met with the heads of the school district, park board, university and hospital, and the County Board as well as many other community groups. The relationship between the City, Schools and Parks is excellent."
The DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference, which is made up of 35 DuPage County towns, elected him as its president.
"I am strongly committed to continuing to serve with energy and integrity to build upon the experience I bring to the mayor’s office," Levin said
Patch could find no candidacy statement online from Levin's opponent, Mulliner. He has not answered Patch's questions about allegations of forgeries on his candidate petition, which the state's attorney's office is investigating.
