Elmhurst Mediterranean Eatery In Works: City

ELMHURST, IL – A Mediterranean restaurant is planned for the Jewel-anchored shopping center complex at York Street and Butterfield Road, according to the city.

Petra Falafel, which has a location in Forest Park, is set for 201 E. Butterfield Road, said Heather Bereckis, the city's business development manager.

The menu for the Forest Park location is online.

In a presentation about new businesses, Bereckis told the City Council that Petra is expected to open later this year. The space at 201 E. Butterfield does not include a kitchen, so the business is adding one, she said.

The restaurant would be between CBD Kratom Elmhurst and Executive Cleaners. Bereckis stated it was between CBD Kratom and ATI Physical Therapy. She did not mention the dry cleaner. The vacant space next to that cleaner is where Petra Falafel is expected.

In an email, Paul Kim of Executive Cleaners said that before the pandemic, the business used both spaces, but downsized to one afterward.
