Elmhurst Mom Wakes Up to Gory Snowman Scene: Police

After heavy snow last weekend, one suburban family woke up to find an unexpected sight steps away from their door this Monday.

Sometime between 11 p.m. Dec. 4 and 7:40 a.m. the next morning, when the mother of the family left the house, she found that someone had built a snowman outside of her front door. Someone had pierced the figure with a stick, making it look like the snowman had been stabbed, and the snow was colored to look like blood.

The woman reported the incident later that evening. Her son said he had heard people outside the night before, possibly drunk college students, and was curious.

He looked outside, he said, and they were building a snowman.
