Elmhurst Nonprofit Hosts Annual Used Book Sale
The organization has run the sale for more than 60 years.
ELMHURST — An Elmhurst nonprofit organization is set to host its annual used book sale.
The Elmhurst Area American Association of University Women, or AAUW, is collecting books, as well as CDs and DVDs for the sale, now until Aug. 1.
Items can be dropped off in designated collection bins at the following locations:

- Sandburg Middle School, 345 E. St Charles Road (preferred site), Mondays through Saturdays 9 a.m. to noon
- Elmhurst Public Library, 125 S. Prospect Ave
- Elmhurst Park District's Courts Plus, 186 S. West Ave.
The used book sale will run Aug. 4 through Aug. 7 at Sandburg Middle School, on the north side of St. Charles Road, between Poplar and Fair Avenues, according to a news release.
The sale will run during the following hours:

- Aug. 4: 6 to 9 p.m. (preview sale, $10 entrance fee)
- Aug. 5: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. (free admission)
- Aug. 6: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (free admission)
- Aug. 7: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (free admission)
On Aug. 7, there will be a $10 bag sale, where everything that can fit into a brown grocery bag will cost $10, according to My Suburban Life.

Proceeds from the sale will be used to benefit local scholarships, AAUW research and programs for women.
Heiney told Patch that last year, the organization gave three women each a $3,000 scholarship, and a high school graduate a $1,000 scholarship.
