Elmhurst Police Investigating Home Burglary Attempt

A man tried to kick in a home's back door around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Elmhurst, police report.

A man tried to kick in the back door of a home around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17.

Elmhurst police are investigating the reported home burglary attempt in the 200 block of North Clinton.

The attempted burglar is described as a white man, medium build, wearing a red hoodie and a ball cap, according to Elmhurst police.

He fled the area at a fast-walking pace, northbound on Clinton toward North Avenue. Because of the rain, a police K-9 wasn’t able to track the man beyond a few houses.

Elmhurst residents are reminded to lock all doors and to immediately report suspicious activity by calling 911.
