Is Elmhurst Restaurant Closed For Good?

ELMHURST, IL – Christopher's Restaurant, 691 N. York St., has been closed for at least the last few days. It's uncertain when or if it will reopen.

Two handwritten signs are on the front doors that say, "Closed – Broken Water Pipe – Open Soon." But the restaurant's Google listing says it is "permanently closed." Its phone was not working as of Monday afternoon.

Google Maps photos indicate the restaurant has been open for at least 14 years.

The restaurant has no website and its Facebook page has been largely inactive. Christopher's Google listing describes it as a "laid-back neighborhood institution in a strip mall preparing down-home bites for breakfast & lunch."
