Elmhurst Team Loses; Another Has Shot
The 13- and 14-year-old team heads to the Junior League Baseball World Series Championship.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst Youth Baseball's 12-and-under team lost its game Wednesday, ending its chance to make the Little League World Series.
But the 13- and 14-year-old Elmhurst team is headed to the Junior League Baseball World Series Championship in Taylor, Michigan. Its game is 4 p.m. Sunday and is set to be aired on ESPN+.
The local team is a combination of players from Elmhurst and River Forest. For several years, the two towns have put together such teams.

The 13- and 14-year-old players won the district and state tournaments before facing tough competition in the Central Regional competition, according to an Elmhurst Youth Baseball news release. After winning its first game, the local team lost Game 2, putting it in the elimination bracket. The defeat forced the team to win four games in three days to win the championship, the release said.
The 12-and-under team nearly made the World Series, only to be stopped by the Ohio team in the Great Lakes Championship by a score of 4-0 on Wednesday.

The Elmhurst 10-and-under and 11-and-under teams also had success, coming in third and second, respectively, in the state tournaments.
The players on the 13- and 14-year-old team are Liam Brown, Matt Davis, Marcelo Garcia, Tom Keane, Robert Kolovitz, Josh Landry, Daniel Lattas, Xavier Martin, Zack Morgan, Gus Peters, Graham Roberts, Kedon Robinson, Owen Tilson and Grayson Waters. The manager is Zack White, and the coaches are Lee Fitzgerald and Cam Chi.
