Elmhurst Team Makes Junior League World Series

Local teams have had a successful year in Little League, leaders said.

ELMHURST, IL – Players from Elmhurst-River Forest Youth Baseball won the 14U Junior League Central Regional Championship game Saturday in Michigan.

The local team now moves to the Junior League Baseball World Series Championship in Taylor, Michigan, according to a news release from the team. The first game is set for 7 p.m. Monday on ESPN+.

The 14U team is a combination of players from Elmhurst and River Forest. For several years, the two towns have been putting together teams in this age group, as allowed by Little League rules.

These 14U All-Stars won the IL District and State convincingly before facing some stiff competition in the Central Regional tournament, the news release said.

Elmhurst has had a very successful run in Little League this year. The 12U baseball team finished second in state, 18U Babe Ruth won state, and 10U softball won state.

Meanwhile, the Elmhurst 14U team crew made it through two competitions in Illinois (District and State) before entering the Central Regional tournament, where they won four games.

The 14U team is set to leave from Berens Park for the Junior League Baseball World Series Championship at 9 a.m. Friday.

The 14U players are Marcelo Garcia, Kedon Robinson, Bryce Draeger, Camilo Colombari, Carson Krischke, Chase Trachtman, Fran Madden, Kayden Crump, Logan Dunlop, Sam Falbo, Sebi Sichlau and Dominic Ramos. The manager is Zack White. The coaches are Edwin Ramos and Cam Chi.
