Elmhurst Woman Attacked In Dallas Bounces Back
Her Chicago Marathon time qualified for the Olympic trials in 2027.

ELMHURST, IL – An Elmhurst woman who was attacked while running in downtown Dallas earlier this year qualified for the Olympic trials in 2027.
At the Chicago Marathon earlier this month, Kristin Dailey was second among the Masters female finishers, with a time of 2 hours, 36 minutes.
The top woman in the category was Maria Lindberg, also of Elmhurst, with a time of 2 hours, 34 minutes.

Both women are York High graduates who ran competitively at the school.
According to a marathon website, Dailey's latest time was the best over five years. She beat her 2024 Chicago Marathon time by more than three minutes.

Dailey, who is in her early 40s, was 443rd overall out of nearly 55,000, placing third in her age group and 22nd among women. The female Masters category is for those 35 and older.
In April, Dailey, who is married to Sean Dailey of Elmhurst, was attacked by a homeless man in downtown Dallas while she was running. She was knocked unconscious.
She suffered injuries to her nose, chin and mouth. Patch wrote about the attack last month.
The Daileys have four children.
