Felony Road Rage Ended In Elmhurst: Cops

A stabbing victim is suffering from health problems as a result, according to a fundraising page.

ELMHURST, IL – A man is suffering major injuries from a road rage incident that started in Addison and ended in Elmhurst last month, authorities said.

About 10 a.m. Nov. 5, Addison officers were called about a stabbing near Lake Street and Bruce Avenue, just west of Elmhurst, according to an Addison police news release at the time.

The two men involved in the incident moved over to the 600 block of West Lake Street in Elmhurst, near West Avenue, police said. The incident ended in a traffic crash.

Police said they arrested 29-year-old Irving Garcia-Zepeda of Roselle on charges of aggravated battery causing bodily harm and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

After the incident, an online fundraising page was set up to help the victim, identified as John Muller.

According to the GoFundMe page, Muller was stabbed in the throat with a large dagger, which punctured a main artery and paralyzed his vocal cord. He was then stabbed twice in the chest, which collapsed his lung, the page said.

As of Wednesday, $2,260 was raised for Muller. The goal is $5,000.
