Field School Will Be Closed on Friday Due to Flood Damage
While several other schools were surrounded by flood waters Thursday, Field is the only school in District 205 to be closed for damage.

295 N. Emroy in Elmhurst, has sustained flood damage sufficient to warrant closing the school Friday, April 19, District 205 Superintendent said in a prepared statement Thursday.
"Following a 24-hour rainfall measuring nearly 6 inches in Elmhurst, Field Elementary School has sustained water damage in the lower level, where the library and cafeteria are located," Pruneau said. "As a result, there will be no school again tomorrow, Friday, April 19, for Field students and staff."
District 205 facilities staff members are confident that they will be able to make the necessary basic repairs in order to open school on Monday, April 22.
A number of other schools in the district, including York High School, were adjacent to rising flood waters (see attached video) but Field is the only school to remain closed.
