Firefighters Battle Blaze that Destroyed Lombard Garage
The Elmhurst Fire Department and others assisted with the Feb. 4 fire in Lombard.

Lombard, IL - Lombard fire crews were called around 7:50 a.m. Feb. 4 to a garage fire in the 800 block of East St. Charles Road in Lombard.
The garage’s owner wasn’t home at the time of the fire, and a neighbor called 911, according to a Village of Lombard news release.
“Fire companies encountered a fully involved detached garage with fire threatening the neighboring home to the north,” said Assistant Fire Chief Jerry Howell in a statement. “The fire response was upgraded to a ‘Special Alarm’ which brought in additional resources from neighboring fire departments to help cover calls at both of our fire stations.”
