Forgery Suspect Flees Elmhurst Cops, Drives On Sidewalk: Police
In another case, an Elmhurst woman faces domestic battery charges, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of battery, domestic battery, burglary, aggravated fleeing, drunken driving and forgery. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst arrest log:
Forgery
- Jennifer M. Sapata, 24, of Chicago, was arrested about 5 p.m. Wednesday on charges of identity theft, forgery, aggravated fleeing and eluding (two counts), obstructing a police officer, criminal trespass to cars, leaving the scene of an accident, failing to reduce speed to avoid a crash, disobeying a stop sign and driving a car on a sidewalk. In the same incident, Brittney N. Simental, 26, of Chicago, was arrested on charges of aggravated fleeing and eluding, criminal trespassing to vehicles and obstructing a police officer. A third person, a 45-year-old Chicago man, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing a police officer. Police said Sapata committed forgery at Chase Bank, 534 W. St. Charles Road. She and her passengers fled, but were later stopped, police said. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail.

- A 25-year-old Elmhurst woman who lives in the 300 block of North Highview Avenue was arrested about 9 p.m. Wednesday at her home on two counts of domestic battery. Police said she admitted to striking another person during an argument. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Battery
- A 67-year-old Elmhurst man, a resident at Bella Terra Elmhurst nursing home, 420 W. Butterfield Road, was arrested about 7 a.m. Tuesday at the facility on a battery charge. He was released.
Burglary

- Joseph O. Anthony Jr., 38, and Yvette L. Blackburn, 38, both of Chicago, were arrested about Wednesday on burglary charges. The incident occurred about 10 p.m. July 3 at Jewel, 944 S. York St. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Warrants
- A 44-year-old woman and a 33-year-old woman, both of St. Louis, were arrested about 10 a.m. Sunday at Route 83 and Roosevelt Road on DuPage County warrants. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Aggravated fleeing
- Michael Nash, 38, of Chicago, was arrested about 2:30 p.m. Monday at York and Vallette streets on charges of aggravated fleeing and eluding, driving with a revoked license, reckless driving, unlawfully possession marijuana by a driver, passing a car on the shoulder, driving the wrong way on a divided highway and driving an uninsured motor vehicle. Police said they tried to stop the car because it was connected to a retail theft suspect in Schaumburg. But the driver, Nash, fled, police said. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
DUI
- A 43-year-old Berwyn man was arrested about 1 a.m. Tuesday at Emroy Avenue and Lake Street on charges of DUI (drugs), unlawful possession of a controlled substance (two counts), driving an uninsured car, improper lane usage, illegally stopping or standing in the roadway, and failure to wear a seatbelt.
