Girl Scout Bake Sale Benefits Playground for Everyone

The troop raised $415, which will go toward the playground's construction.

Elmhurst, IL- Visitors to Wagner Community Center on Jan. 14 were able to satisfy a sweet tooth and help a good cause.

Girl Scout Troop #50302 sold baked goods in the lobby with proceeds going to the Playground for Everyone at Butterfield Park, a universally accessible playground being built by the Elmhurst Park District in fall 2016.

The troop is working toward their bronze service award and want to help the community build a park where everyone can play together. The troop raised $415, which will go toward the playground’s construction.

The Park District is in the middle of its own fundraising efforts for the Playground for Everyone, with the upcoming ‘Be A Kid Again’ special event hosted by the People for Elmhurst Parks Foundation (PEP) on Saturday, Feb. 20 from 7-10:30 p.m. at Courts Plus.
