Hamburger Heaven Turns 65—And We Get A Birthday Gift
Sixty-five years? This Elmhurst landmark must be doing something right!
Hamburger Heaven has been in Elmhurst for 65 years. That's 6-5!
According to the Elmhurst Historical Museum, Hamburger Heaven opened in 1948. A loaf of bread was 14 cents and a pound of ground beef was 45 cents. (It's also the year Ozzie Osbourne was born, but we digress.)
Then, as now, this iconic Elmhurst treasure served up its famous double-decker hamburgers and lots of other delicious treats.
On Monday, Aug. 19, we can all partake in the celebration, because everything on the menu will be half off regular price.
Hamburger Heaven is open from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Why not stop by with the kids to celebrate—or take the edge off—that first day back to school?
