Iguana May Have Fought Back Against Thief
Homeowners reported finding blood on the porch.

An iguana may have fought the person who stole it from its home on the 500 block of West Alexander Boulevard last week, according to a report from Elmhurst police.
The animal was reportedly stolen between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. last Wednesday, April 24, the owners told police. They said the 3 1/2-foot iguana sunbathes in the front window of the home from time to time, and they believe someone entered their unlocked front door and stole it. The owners searched the house, but it was nowhere to be found.
But they did find blood droplets on the porch floor and on envelopes in their mailbox, according to the report. They said they believe the thief may have been bitten or clawed by the iguana as he or she was taking it from the home.
