Jewelry Stolen In Elmhurst Home Burglary: Cops

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving burglary, a scam, loitering, a person sleeping in the woods and retail theft. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Burglary

  • A house in the 400 block of North Oak Street was burglarized March 6. It was reported 10 days later. The suspect forced entry through the back door and stole jewelry. An investigation is pending.

Vehicle fire

  • A vehicle fire occurred about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at Superior Ambulance, 699 N. Walnut St. An investigation is pending.

Scam

  • A resident in the 400 block of Butterfield Road told police Thursday that a person posing as a Citibank employee called her and requested her personal information. After the call, the resident discovered a fraudulent charge on her credit card. An investigation is pending.

Loitering

  • Police received a loitering complaint about 10 a.m. Friday at BP gas station, 1003 N. York St. The person was served a no-trespass notice and left without any problems.

Sleeping in woods

  • A person was reported Friday to be sleeping in a wooded area behind a building in the 100 block of West Industrial Drive. The person was served with a no-trespass notice and left without any problems.

Retail theft

  • Two women stole liquor about 7:30 p.m. Friday from CVS Pharmacy, 110 W. North Ave. The women were described as black, 40 to 50 and having black hair. One was wearing pink yoga pants and a pink shirt. The other was wearing a brown trench coat. An investigation is pending.
