Just In Case You Missed Mr. Vazquez On Jeopardy!

All your answers are questioned here.

Ricardo Vazquez looked darn good on Jeopardy!, but he won't be taking home the big prize from the answer and question show.

When Alex Trebek came around to chat with the Sandburg Middle School band teacher after the first break on Monday's show, he asked him about an unusual tradition in his classroom. Vazquez told Trebek how every Thursday, he dons an ugly shirt to wear to class.

"Even some of my students have given me ugly shirts," he said.

He said the No. 1 question he was asked before going on the show was whether he was going to wear one of them on TV, but he opted for a classic black shirt and gray tie.

Vazquez was up against Anne Baxter, a foreign language and cultural studies teacher from Ypsilanti, Mich., and Kate Moriarty, a teacher at Wyoming Middle School in Cincinnati. Vazquez came in third, but by no means did he embarrass himself.

He rocked a few categories, in particular: Lights, Camera, Action Movies; Carbonation Nation, about soda pop; and Those R the Top 10s, about songs that start with the letter R.

Ironically, he wasn't able to buzz in in time to provide the question to, "This state convicted Rod Blagojevich."

But he nailed the Final Jeopardy question: "The name of this woman who achieved a long-held goal in 2013 is a homophone of a word for water nymph?"

He doubled his money to $11,400 with the question, "Who is Diana Nyad?" But Baxter and Moriarty also got it right and ended up with $24,801 and $16,400, respectively.
