Maintenance Man Discovers Dead Body in Elmhurst Apartment: Cops

A maintenance man who works at an Elmhurst apartment complex was the first to notice something awry about a man’s undisturbed apartment in early January, police said.

The man had knocked on an apartment door Jan. 12, according to police reports, but nobody answered. He also noticed a stack of untouched mail outside of the apartment and decided to call the police for a well-being check.

When police responded to the scene at 9:42 a.m. Jan. 13, they found the male tenant’s dead body on his kitchen floor.

The coroner was called to the scene.
