Man Crashes Into Elmhurst House, Accused Of Reckless Driving: Cops
In another case, a man asked customers for food at a local restaurant and then threw it around, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a crash into a house, a restaurant disturbance, a store selling a minor liquor, dogs at large, aggravated battery, domestic disturbances and a fugitive driver. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Crashed into a house
- A 20-year-old Franklin Park man crashed into a house about 11 p.m. Friday in the 200 block of East Grantley Avenue. He was charged with reckless driving, driving an uninsured car, not wearing a seatbelt and unlawfully possessing marijuana by a driver.

- A man asked customers for food about 3 p.m. Thursday at Armand's Pizzeria, 105 W. First St. Customers bought the man food, and he threw it around. He was issued a no-trespass notice.
Employee cited
- A 22-year-old Lombard man was cited about 2 p.m. Friday at Power Mart, 572 W. Lake St., on a charge of selling liquor to someone under 21. A Power Mart employee, the man sold alcohol to a 16-year-old boy, police said. The boy's father alerted police.
Dogs at large

- A 37-year-old Louisville, Kentucky, man was cited about noon Friday in the 200 block of Bonnie Brae Lane on a charge of having a dog at large. Police responded to a report of several dogs running loose.
Aggravated battery
- Dajon J. Hamlin, 29, of Glen Ellyn, was arrested about 6:30 p.m. Saturday on charges of aggravated battery against a police officer and resisting arrest. He was also wanted on a warrant. Police said the incident occurred on the campus of Bryan Middle School, 111 W. Butterfield Road.
Domestic disturbances
- Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 11 a.m. Thursday in the 900 block of North Virginia Lane. A woman and her son argued over family issues, police said.
- Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 12:30 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of North Addison Avenue. A drunk woman told officers that her husband struck her, but her husband, who was also drunk, denied it, police said. Neither person had visible signs of injuries. The woman was taken to the hospital. No arrests were made.
- Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 7:30 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of North Oaklawn Avenue. A man told officers that his wife shoved him to the ground during an argument. The woman admitted to touching the man, but denied pushing him, police said. No arrests were made because of conflicting statements and no visible injuries.
Soliciting without a permit
- A 35-year-old Des Plaines man was cited about 1 p.m. Thursday at Pick and Thomas streets on a charge of soliciting without a permit.
Fall
- A person lost control while riding his bicycle and fell to the ground about 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the 600 block of South York Street. Medics treated the person, and his mother signed a form refusing further aid.
- Officers and medics responded to a drunk man who had fallen and injured himself on the sidewalk about 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Addison Avenue and Second Street. He was taken to the hospital.
Threat
- A person threatened a landlord about 4:30 p.m. Thursday at an apartment complex at 130 E. Grand Ave. The landlord wanted the suspect to be issued a no-trespass notice.
Fire
- Police and firefighters responded to a dumpster fire shortly after midnight Saturday in the 300 block of South Spring Road. Firefighters put it out. An investigation is pending.
Fugitive driver
- An officer tried to stop a black Toyota Highlander about 2:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Charles Road and Interstate 290. The car was suspected of being involved in a burglary and thefts in another town. The driver sped away, last seen heading east on Interstate 290, approaching South Mannheim Road.
