Man Creating Flood Waves Gets Sandwich Thrown in His Face

Elmhurst police also report arrests for cannabis, attempted burglary, road rage, battery and more.

Disorderly Conduct

A man driving down a flooded street at 10:30 a.m. April 18 said another man got in front of his vehicle and began banging on it. He then reportedly opened the passenger door and threw a sandwich at the driver, hitting him in the face, and began scooping water from the street into the victim's vehicle with his arms. Police contacted the suspect, who told them the truck was causing waves to go into his yard, causing worse flooding inside his home. He admitted to throwing the sandwich and filling the vehicle with water. No charges were filed.

James J. Stilling Jr., 62, 149 Columbia, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after an incident at Elmhurst Public Library, 125 S. Prospect, at 10:50 a.m. April 5. A library employee told police she was monitoring the parking lot for vehicles that do not belong to library patrons. She said she saw Stilling on several occasions using the library, then walking his dog. She told him he needed to move his vehicle or he would be ticketed, according to the police report. Stilling allegedly began yelling, slammed two DVDs at her vehicle's window and demanded proof of her employment. Police said he was using profanity. He was located a short time later, arrested and released on bond.

Possession of Firearms

Quintel Charles Stallworth, 28, 1775 Lowell Lane, Villa Park, was arrested and charged with possession of firearms and firearm ammunition after police pulled over his white Oldsmobile on the 200 block of East Butterfield Road at 3:36 p.m. April 6. Police said they saw a loaded magazine in the open glove box and found a secured black semi-automatic HiPoint handgun in the trunk. He was released on bond.

Items Turned In for Destruction

A resident of the 100 block of North Larch turned in a Daisy brand BB gun for destruction at 9:19 a.m. April 20.

A resident of the 400 block of North Maple turned in a box of .22 caliber long rifle bullets for destruction at 10:30 a.m. April 20.

Violation of an Order of Protection

Larry Bebo, 53, 703 W. Liberty, Wheaton, was arrested and charged with violation of an order of protection and pedestrian under the influence of alcohol after an incident at 1:44 a.m. April 22. Police responded to a call for an intoxicated man laying in the roadway at Michigan and Belden. He had gone to the home of a victim who had an order of protection against him and knocked on the door. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Possession of Cannabis

Steven Helminski, 26, 8642 W. Summerdale Apt. 2S, Chicago, was cited for possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal transportation of alcohol after the green Chevrolet Malibu he was riding in was pulled over for no rear registration plate light at Grand and County Line at 12:10 a.m. April 17. He was released on bond. Another passenger in the vehicle, Brad Christensen, 45, 601 Summerdale, Roselle, was arrested on a failure to appear warrant out of DuPage County. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Roberto Pizano, 22, 33 Princeton, Villa Park, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis after police pulled over his blue Chevrolet for speeding at North Avenue and Route 83 at 4:03 p.m. April 19. He was released on bond.

Meghan O'Donnell, 19, 126 Cambridge, Frankfort, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and consumption of alcohol by a minor after police said Elmhurst College security found her in possession at 10:59 p.m. April 20. She was released on bond.

Nay Min Tar, 36, 1274 Pine Valley Drive, Schaumburg, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia on the 200 block of East Park at 1:02 a.m. April 22. He was released on bond.

Nicholas J. Hufford, 20, 155 Greenshire Court, O'Fallon, Mich., and Alexander Wilkinson, 20, 3729 S. Clarence, Berwyn, were arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia after an unannounced search of their residence at 513 W. St. Charles Road Apt. D, by Elmhurst College security at 4:46 p.m. April 22. Both were released on bond.

Attempted Burglary

A resident of the 300 block of Chandler called police after seeing a man wearing a dark blue jacket and blue jeans trying to break into the rear door of a neighbor's house at 1:05 p.m. April 5. The suspect ran northbound. Workers in the area said they also saw the suspect running, according to the police report. Police set up a perimeter and had a K-9 track the suspect, but he got away.

Road Rage

Geroge Torossian, 40, 231 Concord Lane, Carol Stream, was arrested and charged with reckless driving, improper lane use, improper stopping on a roadway and battery after an incident at York and Fullerton at 2:38 p.m. April 9. Police said Torossian got out of his black Nissan Maxima and threatened to kill a 29-year-old Berwyn man. Police said he put his hands on the victim.

Resisting Arrest

Carlos Vega, 23, 130 N. Haven Apt. 6, was arrested and charged with resisting arrest after he ran from officers near his home at 10:33 p.m. April 19. Police were searching for a subject who may have damaged a vehicle when they came upon Vega, who led them on a short foot chase, according to the police report. Vega denied being involved in the damage to vehicle case and was later cleared. He was released on bond on the resisting arrest charge.

Domestic Battery

Charli S. Reid, 25, homeless, was arrested and charged with domestic battery and criminal damage to property after she allegedly broke into a house on the 200 block of South Villa Avenue by breaking a window with her hand, police said. She was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Battery

Nicholas Draper, 39, 17W718 Butterfield Road, Oakbrook Terrace, was arrested and charged under city ordinance with battery on the 100 block of North York Road at 1:55 a.m. April 21. He was released on bond.
